Paweł Wakarecy

Born in 1987 in Toruń, he graduated with honours from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music – professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń’s piano class.

He has received awards and honourable mentions at numerous Polish and international piano competitions. In 2010 he received the honourable mention and a special prize for the Best Pole at the XVI Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw.

He has performed in many cities in Poland and abroad, has cooperated with numerous Polish and foreign orchestras under brilliant conductors.

He is also active as a chamber musician – along with his spouse, Aleksandra Soboń-Wakarecy, he’s part of Wakarecy Piano Duo.

He has two albums in his discography, the first (2010) was published by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and contains pieces recorded during the Chopin Competition, the other, published by CD Accord (2013) is a solo recital with pieces by Chopin, Paderewski and Zarębski.

Currently he is an associate at the Piano Department of the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.

Przemysław Lechowski

He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and finished post-graduate studies at the Warsaw’s Chopin University of Music. He is a laureate of Polish and international piano competitions. He has performed in nearly the entire world, giving over two thousand concerts. He sits at the jury of international piano competitions in Poland and Asia, he is the vice chairman of the Siberian International Chopin Piano Competition in Russia.

In recognition of his piano skills he has received the honourable title of a professor from the University at Tomsk – the city where in 1864, for the first time in Asia, Chopin pieces were performed using the note sheets brought by the people resettled to Siberia.
