Bronisława Kawalla

Laureate of the first prize at the International Bach Competition in Washington D.C. in 1975, she was born to a well-known family of musicians. She graduated from the Secondary School of Music in Kraków, class of Maria Bilińska-Riegerowa and from the Music Academy in Warsaw, class of Jan Ekier. She honed her skills in Paris under the tutelage of Nadia Boulanger and Monique Haas, and under Philippe Entremont at the Académie Internationale de Maurice Ravel.

The pianist records for the Polish Radio and Television, Veriton and the Polskie Nagrania record company. She performs in Poland and abroad, in orchestras under exceptional conductors, she also takes part in international music festivals. Her performances are enthusiastically received by the audience and highly praised by the critics and the press – Daily Telegraph has placed her among the “leading pianists of today”.

Bronisława Kawalla is also a pedagogue – a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Her pupils receive awards in national and international competitions alike. For her artistic and pedagogical activities she has received state awards.



Dmitry Shishkin

He is a laureate of the VI prize at the XVII International Chopin Piano Competition which was held in Warsaw in 2015.

He was born on the 12th of February in 1992 in Chelyabinsk. His first piano lessons were provided by his mother, a teacher and a pianist. At not even two years of age he would perform simple pieces, he gave his first concert at three, and performed with an orchestra three years later. Since the age of four, he studied at the Piotr Czajkowski School in his home city. Five years later he came to the Moscow’s Gniesin Music School and started learning under the tutelage of Mikhail Khokhlov. Since 2010 he has been studying in Moscow’s conservatory under Eliso Virsaladze. In that same year he played at the Red Square for the audience and for the government, the Tchaikovsky Concerto 1 with the Gniessin Virtuosi Orchestra under Mikhail Khokhlov.

He is a laureate of many a prize, i.a. at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (3rd prize, 2013), at competitions in Russia, China, Germany, Bulgaria, Brazil or Poland. He has performed with orchestras in entire Russia, also with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed in Bulgaria, Germany, at the Balkans, in Italy, Spain, France, Great Britain, Japan, Austria, China, Brazil and Poland. Besides playing the piano, he is also an avid composer.
